Description

Rated as: Below Average. This camp ground is in heavy trees, with a lot of separation between sites. Sites are pull through, on level grass. There is a picnic table and fire ring at each site. There are two separate areas – upper off the river and lower on the river. Most of the lower sites are permanent/seasonal residents. The owners are friendly and helpful. The “office” is in their house. The “laundry room” and showers are marginal at best. Two small washers, one broken and one residential dryer. $2.00 to wash, $1.50 to dry – pay at the office. One small shower in poor repair. The guests are not friendly and keep to themselves. There is a constant “hum” of road noise from the Highway. The grounds are mowed and trees trimmed, but there are some limbs hanging over the roads. There is no fishing on the river, it is too slow, low, and warm. Overall, it is just an ok camp ground. Nothing to make it stand out or make you want to return. There are much better choices in Wilmington, closer to Lake Placid. We would not say again. Rated as Below Average.
